Millennium School is situated in Mathare Slum. The degree of poverty here is unimaginable with people living in 6ft x 8ft shanties.The school was founded in the year 2000 by Prof. William Ogembo, a senior Engineer at the University of Nairobi. He believed education is a tool against Poverty. 

The school has had a total of 1235 students in the slum from its inception . In the heart of Mathare, one of Nairobi’s largest informal settlements, Millennium Williams School perseveres against significant odds. Despite daily challenges, 2024 marked a remarkable milestone with the establishment of our new school building – a testament to hope and community resilience.

Ongoing Challenges: • Limited access to clean water and proper nutrition • High student-to-teacher ratio • Resource constraints for learning materials • Health and sanitation concern.
